The Biopharmaceutical Formulation Centre was constructed at our Parkville site in 2007. It is accessible to biotech organisations for formulation, fill and finish of liquid pharmaceuticals used in clinical development.
CSL is a global specialty biopharmaceutical company that aims to identify, develop and commercialise important, new, biotherapeutic products that save lives by preventing or treating serious medical conditions. We are committed to significantly investing in our future R&D portfolio and capabilities in the areas of plasma replacement therapies, vaccines, immunomodulators (with our ISCOMATRIX® adjuvant) and recombinant therapeutic proteins.

CSL includes CSL Behring, CSL Plasma, CSL Biotherapies and CSL Bioplasma. These four businesses have a heritage of outstanding contributions to medicine and human health, with more than 100 years experience in the development and manufacture of vaccines and plasma protein biotherapies.

Working together on project timelines in Marburg are Senior Project Management team (from left) Dr Martin Vey, Ulrike Friebertshauser, Mark Ruppersberg and Dr Heiko Volpel.  Our strong commitment to funding research and development of protein based medicines for unmet medical needs underpins our continued growth.

CSL operates as one integrated global research and development organisation. We assemble co-ordinated global project teams that leverage core capabilities at each of our sites while maximising expertise and minimising duplication. These teams rely on a project management framework that facilitates collaboration across national and cultural boundaries.

R&D Partnerships

CSL maintains strong long-standing strategic partnerships with academic institutions and other corporations in Australia, North America and Europe. These collaborative partnerships support a range of effective research programs, including both basic and applied research in plasma derived and recombinant biotechnology based product development.
