PROTHROMBINEX-VF is a freeze-dried preparation of proteins called human prothrombin complex. PROTHROMBINEX-VF contains concentrated factor IX, factor II, factor X and low level of factor VII. These proteins are essential for the normal blood clotting process.

PROTHROMBINEX-VF is also recommended for the prevention and treatment of bleeding in patients with single or multiple congenital deficiency of factor IX, II or X.
PROTHROMBINEX-VF is supplied as a freeze-dried powder which is dissolved with Water for Injections and then injected into a vein. Each vial of PROTHROMBINEX-VF is packaged with one vial of Water for Injections and a plastic Mix2Vial™ filter transfer set that is used to transfer the Water for Injections into the PROTHROMBINEX-VF vial.
PROTHROMBINEX-VF is available only with a doctor’s prescription.
